Hero(In)es and Their Early Outs (Part 1)

OK! I know the title is enough to make you guess that the piece is about the small tenure of a Bollywood heroine, and very small as compared to the Kings, the Bhais and the Perfectionists.

I won’t taste the old cookies but talk about the years in which I have craved for the B-Town’s hotness. I’ll keep it to the point with some of my ladies only.

Ten years ago, when I was ten years old (Girls, please note), when my taste buds used to find “Pokémon” most delicious, I had just started watching movies (seriously, I mean). The first movie I watched with full concentration was “Devdas” which had Madhuri Dixit as one of its female protagonists, but I wasn’t interested in the other one. Huh! Aayi badi MissWorld! After the movie, my Dil (thoda-thoda) Dola for her. The actress was a top heroine of her time who with full-on audacity could say ‘Mai Heroine Hoon’. But then ageing started and we wanted ‘something new’. Maybe she too got to know that in the case of the weaker sex (so-called), fame is a ‘fickler’ food; and she married. She tried two returns to the place of no return, pun intended.

Then, in 2007, came another apple of my eye, Katrina Kaif.

The lady left behind almost every other heroine in the industry with back-to-back hits: “Namastey London”, “Apne”, “Welcome”, “Race”, “Singh Is Kinng” and “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” to name a few. Till the release, run and success of the last one, she was hot but then slowly-slowly, she too started becoming thandi. There were “Ek Tha Tiger” (jisme tha Bhai) and Dhoom:3 (jo thi Katrina-free) in between. “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” was an under-performer. Now the lady is almost a “Phantom”.

Just a career of twelve years! Even my teacher has a longer one. She, too, is beautiful and bad at her job.

Meanwhile I have loved Kareena Kapoor a lot. A really potent performer and a ‘could-be’ reason of World War III for her beauty. Her career got ‘started’ with “Jab We Met”, before which she had taken a lapse. But we are “3 (times) Idiots” to lose Chammak Challo.

She will never have to rely upon Saif to listen to ‘Waoh’!

Lovers please note that “Ki and Ka” to release on April 1, 2016.

The present era belongs to Deepika: Kangana is shining: Alia and Shraddha will be at the top for sure. I wager.

Let’s see for how long these ladies rule.

Sorry, Priyanka, Vidya and ‘Rani and Priety’, my readers are tired now.

PS: I keep my articles short because of your adrenaline. If you guys are patient and interested enough, I can make longer ones with keeping them equally or more entertaining.
